A successful 2016 DCAT concluded last week. Thousands of attendees from across the pharmaceutical industry met in NYC for four days of intense, fast-paced meetings. A cross-section of the industry, participants collaborated with colleagues in all stages of drug development, from R&D concept to market-ready prescription drug.
Months of prep into organizing and scheduling meetings were essential to a productive week. Especially noteworthy was the collaborative nature of the conference. Customers and suppliers were on a more level playing field–midtown Manhattan which is home to Fortune 500 companies of all types. The environment was high energy and first-class, though you might need a good pair of running shoes to keep up!
Key industry leaders from across the globe and at all levels within their organizations were in attendance, bringing the right mix of people together to make decisions and reach meaningful progress in record time. In the age of lightning-fast, yet often impersonal electronic communication, the opportunity for all parties to sit across the table from each other to discuss a business solution – and make a decision in the span of an hour is increasingly unique.
As for the Doe & Ingalls brand, we were able to connect with key customers and raw material manufacturers, strengthening our relationships with established partners and new connections alike, positioning us to bring even greater value to our customers through our innovative supply chain services and the breadth of our product portfolio within the industry. Planned to a tee, DCAT brings together the right mix of people in a unique high-energy setting – what happens from there is up to you.
