Durham, North Carolina –  June 1, 2011 – Doe & Ingalls, Austin Chemical Company and Robinson Brothers, Ltd have joined together to provide North American-based life science and fine chemical manufacturers a new channel for commercial quantities of piperidine.

Doe & Ingalls and Austin Chemical Company have entered into an exclusive agreement for the North American sale and distribution of piperidine manufactured by Robinson Brothers. All sales will be managed by Doe & Ingalls through its licensed facilities in Durham, North Carolina; Baltimore, MD; Medford, MA; and Riverside, CA.

Piperidine, a DEA-regulated compound, is commonly used as a solvent in life science and industrial applications. It is primarily used as a building block in pharmaceutical development, fine chemical synthesis and rubber compounding as well as a solvent/base for peptide synthesis and DNA sequencing. Robinson Brothers Ltd, a UK-based piperidine producer, serves as the exclusive manufacturer.

The creation of this new North American sales channel allows for greater access for life science and fine chemical customers and ensures delivery of the highest quality materials while maintaining all industry standards and protocols.
